THE EVENT

STEM fields across the country suffer from a lack of inclusion. The graduate students in our departments (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Entomology, and the School of Integrative Plant Science) are seeking to change this by hosting a preview event for underrepresented students. In reaching out to those who have historically been ignored by our fields, we hope to make our scientific communities better reflections of our society and ourselves.

Next year, we will proudly host our fourth annual Diversity and Inclusion Preview Weekend in the spring of 2020. This preview weekend is intended to introduce attendees to our research programs the year before they apply to graduate school. This event is separate from our departmental applications for admission (if you plan to apply to graduate school at Cornell this year, click here).

If you identify as an underrepresented minority student (Black/African American, Latina/o or Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, or first generation college student), or you inhabit another axis of minority status (e.g. LGBTQIA, disabled persons, low income), this event is for you.

Applications for DPW 2020 are now closed.
